Elonex OLPC news

Elonex One OLPCUK PC manufacturer Elonex have released a device designed to compete with the OLPC market. A noteworthy aspect of this device is the price - £99. I know some of you are aware that the OLPC retails for about $400 dollars but there is a catch here. For every OLPC sold one is donated to a child in an underdeveloped country. Elonex will donate an Elonex One for every 100 devices sold!

Here’s the spec of the Elonex One and One +:

Removable WristVault Flash device, ranging between 1GB and 16GB (sold separately)

2 x USB 2.0 ports
Bluetooth — One+ model only
Audio — 2 x built-in speakers. 3.5mm audio-in/mic and headphones
Keyboard — splash-proof, detachable QWERTY
8.7 x 5.9 x 1.2 inches (22 x 15 x 3 cm)
2.1 lbs (0.95 kg)
3-cell battery - approximately 4 hours usage
Linos OS (based on 2.6.21 kernel)
