Lenovo U8 to carry Intel Atom

Lenovo U8 IdeapadLenovo launched the U8 Ideapad back in April at the Intel’s IDF in Shanghai. Based on the keypad layout, 12 key numeric pad, I’d say the U8 Ideapad is aimed at both mobile phone users and technology fans alike.

The U8 Ideapad looks nice. Really nice. The Linux OS even has support for Microsoft Office applications which should appeal to business users and road warriors.

Specification:

  • Intel Atom CPU
  • 4.8″ touchscreen
  • optical mouse - allegedly, this will enable one-handed use
  • 3G, EDGE and GPS
  • integral web browser
  • front-mounted camera - for video calls
  • 4/6/10 Gb SSD

An official date for the UK launch hasn’t been announced yet but we expect to hear something in the next month or so.
