FireFox 3 - memory gannet.

Written on July 4, 2008 – 6:34 am | by james |

I know many of you were eagerly awaiting FireFox 3 but for me there is still a bug in the latest version. FF2 ate memory which was fine if you have Gb’s of RAM in your PC or laptop but bad if you were running it on a UMPC or Mobile Internet Device. It seems the issue is still present in the latest release of the Open Source browser.

Fear not, RAMBack is here! This firefox plugin can, to a degree, reduce memory usage - which comes in handy if have lots of tabs open. RAMBack achieves this by clearing out cached memory that is not in use.

That’s all. Here’s the link.
