Dell ‘netbook’ coming soon.

Dell netbookAnother hardware company is joinint the bandwagon. Dell have announced their intention to release a ‘netbook’ - why can’t they all just stick to one, simple acronym?

The ‘netbook’ looks very similar to the Dell mini-Inspiron and, looking at the images, you’ll have a choice of two colours: red or black.

There has been no formal announcement on specifications or pricing. Realistically, in order to make any gain in a highly competitive market you would expect Dell’s ‘netbook’ to have pricing and features comparable to offerings from Asus, MSI and other vendors of UMPC’s.

One aspect that I will be keen to see is the processor. The Intel Atom is fast becoming seen as THE processor for UMPC’s (although AMD might argue that point). Hopefully Dell will take the hint.
