Asus Eee PC 901 and 1000
Asus are expected to announce the launch of new Eee PC models this month at Computex. Sources suggest that the new variants, 901 and 1000, are being prepared for a June release.
Both new models are expected to ship with the Intel Atom processor at the heart of the hardware which is good news. The Eee PC 1000 will feature a 10″ screen, up to 40Gb SSD. A second variant, the 1000H should be available with up to an 80GB 2.5″ 5400RPM HDD. Did I mention up to 8 hours battery life??? The Eee PC is starting to look really good.
ASUS have announced the provision of 20GB of dedicated online storage (per machine) for Eee PC users.
Asus is driving the Eee PC hard and recent announcements show that the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer is determined to grab a slice of the very profitable UMPC market. The Eee Box is a prime example. A low cost, all-in-one box designed to compete with the likes of Apple. We’ll watch the market and let you know what happens.
